Burckhardt Compression wins order for the Boaventura Energy Complex supporting Brazil's energy transition

BC has secured orders for the Boaventura Energy Complex, a major Petrobras project in Brazil, for the supply of six compressor packages and related services.

WINTERTHUR, SWITZERLAND, September 2, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Burckhardt Compression has secured two orders for the Boaventura Energy Complex, a major Petrobras project in Brazil, for the supply of six Process Gas Compressor packages and related services. The orders mark an important milestone in the company's strategy to expand its presence in South America's growing energy market.

The compressor packages were ordered by Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) companies responsible for executing three parallel projects within the Boaventura Energy Complex in Itaboraí, Rio de Janeiro. The equipment will be used in natural gas processing as well as new refining and lubricant production units.

Formerly known as Comperj, the Boaventura Energy Complex is a key element of Petrobras' decarbonization strategy. The site combines cleaner natural gas processing with future initiatives in green hydrogen research and biorefining projects focused on sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), making it one of Brazil's most important energy infrastructure projects.
