Provided by AGPIn remarks made during a phone interview with French television station LCI, Trump stated that Iranian officials “still very much want to make a deal.”
The comments come amid heightened regional tensions following military strikes carried out by the United States and Israel against Iran on Feb. 28, which triggered retaliatory actions from Tehran against Israel and US-aligned Gulf states, as well as disruption in the Strait of Hormuz.

He also referenced the temporary ceasefire linked to Victory Day between Russia and Ukraine, expressing hope that it could be prolonged. Trump claimed he played a direct role in facilitating discussions between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, saying, “I made the deal” between the two leaders.
