Iran Denies Intention to Target UAE Amid Escalating Security Tensions
(MENAFN) A senior Iranian military official has stated that Tehran did not intend to target the United Arab Emirates, according to Iranian state media reports on Monday.
The statement comes after UAE authorities reported a fire at the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone, which they said followed a drone attack originating from Iran. Emergency response teams were deployed to contain the blaze, and reports indicated that three people sustained moderate injuries.
In a separate development, the UAE Defense Ministry reported that multiple cruise missiles were launched toward the country, with most of them intercepted before impact.
The incident occurs against a backdrop of heightened regional instability, with tensions increasing following earlier US and Israeli strikes on Iran in late February. Those events triggered a series of retaliatory actions and further disruptions affecting maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz, according to reports.
