Hamas Calls on Mediators to Act Over Israeli Ceasefire Violations in Gaza

(MENAFN) The Palestinian group Hamas has urged mediators and guarantor states to take action against what it describes as ongoing violations of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, according to reports.

A Hamas spokesperson, Hazem Qassem, accused Israel of carrying out deadly strikes despite the existence of a ceasefire arrangement. He referred to an incident in central Gaza, claiming that civilians were killed in what he described as a serious attack on a residential area.

He said:
“The criminal Zionist occupation committed today a horrific massacre by killing six citizens in Bureij camp, in continuation of a genocide war that has not stopped despite all the misleading talk about the ceasefire holding,” said Qassem.

Medical sources cited in reports said multiple Palestinians were killed and others injured in an early morning strike targeting a civilian gathering in the Bureij area. Additional reports indicated that further casualties occurred later in northern Gaza, bringing the total number of reported deaths since dawn to seven.

Qassem argued that these incidents reinforce demands by Palestinian factions that any ceasefire arrangement must be fully implemented, including halting all alleged violations before moving to subsequent phases of any agreement.

He also called on mediators and guarantor countries to intervene more actively to ensure compliance with the terms of the ceasefire, stressing that continued strikes undermine efforts toward de-escalation in the territory.
