Erdogan Confirms Recovery of 19 Bodies from Military Plane Crash
He stated that rescue teams continue searching for one missing crew member.
During a Wednesday address to the provincial leaders of the Justice and Development (AK) Party in Ankara, Erdogan revealed that the aircraft’s black box had been located and that a detailed inquiry into the incident is now underway.
“Ongoing work at the crash site is being closely monitored, and all necessary investigations will be done meticulously to clarify every aspect of the incident,” he emphasized.
The president reassured the public that, together with Türkiye, the full capacities of Georgia and Azerbaijan have been mobilized “for our heroes.”
Erdogan mentioned that consistent updates regarding the tragedy would be provided to citizens by Türkiye’s National Defense Ministry and Communications Directorate.
He cautioned the public to stay alert against false information about the crash and not to give credit to those “who stoop to dirty politics.”
Paying tribute to the fallen servicemen, Erdogan recited their names and offered prayers in their memory.
He further explained that immediately after the crash, National Defense Minister Yasar Guler, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, and Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan promptly contacted their counterparts, enabling rapid coordination of search and rescue missions.
