Gaza Genocide: Israeli Fire Kills 95 Civilians Seeking Aid

(MENAFN) At least 95 civilians were fatally struck by Israeli army gunfire in the past 24 hours while queuing for humanitarian aid at distribution centers run by the United States within the Gaza Strip, the Health Ministry reported on Monday.

“Starvation has also killed 19 people in the last 24 hours amid a total Israeli blockade,” stated Muneer Alboursh, the ministry’s director general, in an interview with media.

Since March 2, Israel has completely closed all border crossings into Gaza, cutting off vital humanitarian assistance and accelerating the region’s looming famine crisis.

Data from Gaza’s Health Ministry revealed that since May 27, more than 1,020 individuals seeking aid have been killed, with over 6,500 wounded by Israeli fire at aid distribution points established under an Israeli-controlled aid mechanism widely condemned by the United Nations and other international bodies as “death traps.”

The ministry further reported that 86 people, including 76 children, have succumbed to hunger and dehydration since October 2023. The Government Media Office of Gaza also issued a dire warning, stating the territory is “on the brink of mass death” following more than 140 days of an almost complete blockade.

Since October 2023, Israeli forces have killed upwards of 59,000 Palestinians in Gaza, the vast majority being women and children. The ongoing military offensive has ravaged the area, shattered healthcare infrastructure, and triggered severe food shortages.

In November of last year, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Additionally, Israel faces allegations of genocide brought before the International Court of Justice related to its military actions in the enclave.
