Iran’s Internet Service Returns to Pre-War Levels

(MENAFN) Iran’s Internet connectivity has returned to its normal state after a temporary shutdown amid recent hostilities with Israel, Iran’s communications minister announced Wednesday.

Sattar Hashemi, the minister of Information and Communications Technology, shared the update on the social media platform X, just one day after a ceasefire agreement ended 12 days of intense fighting between the two nations.

Internet restrictions were initially imposed by Iran soon after Israel carried out a series of airstrikes on June 13. These strikes targeted key nuclear and military sites, resulting in the deaths of several senior commanders, nuclear scientists, and hundreds of civilians, according to Iranian sources.

Following the aerial attacks, pro-Israeli hackers reportedly launched cyber assaults on Iran’s banking network, causing disruptions across multiple financial institutions.
